The Oxford
team looks more confident and relaxed than the Cambridge team before the
race. The outcome no doubt favours Oxford even before the team crosses
the finishing line. I root for Oxford because I feel sorry for Acer Nethercott,
the Oxford cox, for being vilifed the year before. He refused to apologise
for his mistake, but like a true coxswain, he 'held his line' despite
everything. Cambridge is very reluctant to be seen as Oxford's equal,
as evident in one of the photos where the Cambridge captain actually looks
away while shaking hands with the opponent. Location: HSBC Rowing
Club, Putney. Lenses: 18-70mm and 70 mm-300 mm. ISO 400. Time: 11.30 pm
- 4.00 pm. Cloudy. Home Coxing |
